Classroom: Being Filled with the Spirit 03-20-07

03-20-07 Pastor Nabil
How to be filled with the Spirit.

This is the first time in 10 years that I’ve changed my schedule during this teaching. I usually go into Spiritual Gifts now, but I want to teach somewhere else now: How to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

[Pray]

Ephesians 5:15-21
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

We are talking today about this command here: Be filled with the Spirit. There are 4 commands concerning the Holy Spirit in the New Testament.

Galatians 5:16 and 5:25 Walk in the Spirit
Ephesians 5:18 Be filled with the Spirit
Ephesians 4:30 Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit
1 Thessalonians 5:13 Don’t quench the Holy Spirit

To be filled with the Spirit is a matter of lifestyle. To be filled with the Spirit means to live day by day being filled with the Spirit.
Acts 11:24
for he [Barnabas] was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

Acts 6:3,5
3 Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.
5 And what they said pleased the whole gathering, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch.

The Lord commanded us to have the attitude of “Be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
It’s a lifestyle
To be filled for a particular situation

John the Baptist was being filled with the Holy Spirit in the womb.

Acts 13:9 Paul the apostle has been filled with the Holy Spirit and starts to rebuke this man.

Does this mean that he wasn’t filled with the Holy Spirit before? No! Of course he was, but this is a special addition of the Holy Spirit than there was before. We find it when we share the gospel, or when we praise and worship, or in our normal reactions sometimes.

Matthew 10:18-20 the Lord spoke about this. He was talking about the time of persecution and he said don’t worry. Don’t think about what you will speak because the Holy Spirit will give you what you will speak.

3 Things About the Fullness of the Holy Spirit
The desire of the Father – to be filled and have it be our lifestyle everyday
That the Lord is willing to fill you every day to meet your needs, but He is looking to see a willing vessel to be filled. [scripture?] – hungry thirsty
One of the keys of the fullness of the Holy Spirit is to be filled with the Word of God. I don’t mean to memorize verses, I mean to live a life of obedience. When we read the Word of God, when we hear it, there is something inside of us that encourages us to be obedient. And what do I mean by obedient? “I don’t like that. I don’t want to do that. Not right now…” Hello—what is faith? Faith is knowledge plus obedience.

When I sit an say, “Lord what do you want to tell me today? What kind of action do you want me to take? What sin in my heart do you want me to give up?” The fullness of the Spirit is that I would put the Word of God over everything in my life! I will make it a priority! I want to build my life on the truth of God. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. If you want to be filled with the Spirit, take the Word of God seriously! SERIOUSLY.

Acts 5:32
And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

Blessed are you Peter. Men did not reveal this to you, but the Father did. You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church. Not you, but upon this relationship. Just go read the gospel of John. JUST this gospel. God wants an intimate relationship with us – Just like Jesus had.

We need to be in submission, and in obedience to our word. How many of us read the Lord’s prayer every day? YOUR KINGDOM COME!!!

Ephesians 5:17
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

In one part he says don’t be foolish! Don’t be stupid! And from the other side, he says “be wise.” And how can we be wise? Simple. Understand what the will of the Lord is. And how do we do that? Well, it says that in 5:18.

Ephesians 5:18
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

Please note, also, that it does not say “don’t drink wine” it says “don’t be drunk with wine.” Because when I am drunk with wine, I will be out of control. Why? Because I will be 100% under the control of wine. Have you met any drunk people before? I had a relative years ago, he lived in the city, he was rich, and he would bring a lot of wine and whisky with him. He would go with his friends at night and come and sleep over at our house. Well, the next morning, when you asked him what happened last night – he would not remember anything… who he paid money to, where he went – because of the wine. It just made his mind go far away. But there is another kind of drunk that the Lord encourages us to be drunk with! And what is it? The Holy Spirit. It goes along with what I said yesterday, to be led by the Spirit.

Acts 2:13-15
But others mocking said, "They are filled with new wine." But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them, "Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.

Now I’m telling you, this is not a request or recommendation. This is a command: Be filled with the Spirit. Keep being filled with/in the Spirit every day. Now how can I be filled with the Holy Spirit? The key is obedience and submission.

Ephesians 5:19
addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart,

Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and songs
Singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord
giving thanks in all things to God the Father through Jesus Christ
Submitting to one another in the Fear of God

As much as you have a relationship with somebody, as much as they talk to you and you talk to them – the more you love them, the more you have fellowship with them, the more you talk – they are your friend. And this is what the word of God calls us to do to one another. To be filled with the Spirit, you cannot be alone in the Body of Christ. “Oh man, I just want to worship alone! I just want to listen to the pastor give his benediction and then I’m out of here.” Can you be part of the body? When you are part of the Body, you get into conflicts. A lot of things bother you – but this is how the Lord teaches you! This is how you are growing! And I thank the Lord for all of the conflicts that have caused me to grow. They push God into my life more. They push me to find the sin in my heart more, to see all the things in my life that God will change. WHO WILL BRING THESE THINGS OUT?!? Jesus Christ. The Body of Christ.

In order to be a part of the Body of Christ, you have to have a relationship with man! But this is NOT a silent relationship! But he said you must speak. And the problem is not with the speech – but what kind of speech! So let’s go back to the word of God!

Ephesians 5:19
addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart,

“Oh! Hello Milad! Let me sing a spiritual song to you! Okay?” It does not mean that. But in your life, in certain situations, you might be seeking help, you might be crying for somebody to encourage you, or you’re encouraging your brother or sister with what the Lord is doing with you – this is what we mean by psalms. Hymns: something that will reflect the glory of God! Just to reflect how God is good and God is great and all of that – just to bring news.

On my way here I stopped in Beirut. I saw a friend and we ate together. We hung out and chatted and I started to share some things. We talked about miracles and miracles and resurrections and resurrections - and things like that. For 20 minutes! And we were just sharing how God is great! It’s like that. We were talking about something real with hymns to glorify the Lord!

Okay, Spiritual songs: okay – it’s something that describes a situation in my life where the Lord interfered. Stories of life.

It’s a sign to be filled with the Spirit that you have a relationship with others. You have to make some EFFORT to be filled with the Spirit! Like… “I’m going to forgive Miled.” Or “I’m going to give him something.” It’s to do something practical. The Holy Spirit is not the one who divides. He’s the one who gathers together.

Submit to one another. Ephesians 5:21-6:9 Paul writes about relationships. Any kind of relationship. Submission. I like this subject. I think for teaching I have 7 or 8 tapes on this subject. But one of the things that the Evil One uses in our life is to put in our hearts a seed to hate authority. I remember I was praying one night and the Lord touched my heart in a very deep way. And in the morning when I was driving my car I said, “Lord, I love you so much and I need more of you in my life.” And I heard a voice in my head, ‘do you love me?’ and I said, ‘yes Lord’ and He said ‘fasten your seatbelt’.” I was breaking the law. So He said, “Do you love me? Obey the law.” Go and read Romans 13. It’s talking about this. Submit to one another. I want to tell you that authority has been created by God, and it’s very pure and very wise. Why has authority been created in our lives? For protection. Even if there is an evil authority in our lives one day… somehow, there is still protection. When there is an authority in your life you feel comfortable and secure. This is different in the Middle East than in Western nations.
To be filled with the Spirit means that your heart wants to worship the Lord. Worship does not mean quiet music and lifting your hands to the Lord. In Isaiah, the Lord says, those people worship me with their mouths but their hearts are far from me. Worship means bow down. This is the word worship. It comes from two words – worth – ship. I give Him to be worthy. You are worthy of worship, and I am willing to be your slave. How many of us call the Lord master? When He is the master – and He says something, there’s no more negotiations. “Yes, master. Yes, master.” We have two helpers in my house. When I tell them, “bring me a cup of juice.” Well when they come to me and say, “today I brought you two cups.” Or “how about a glass of water? It’ll be good for you.” How am I going to react? We don’t expect such things from the people that are working for us. Is that right? So why expect another thing for those that are working for God? Do you know what God’s problem is? He’s merciful. Really. He’s so merciful. He’s just waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. But if you’re faithful in the little things, He can give you more, and put you over more. This is the heart of worship. What is the heart of worship? “I want to please you. I want to please you.” Not “I am using you to please myself.” The church is not about “bless me.” The church is about “Bless You.” The Kingdom is about “Bless You.” And as much as I “bless You” – that’s how much I will be blessed. Lord, I want to be filled with the Spirit! I say it again, worship is not singing songs.
Give thanks always in all things to God our Father through Lord Jesus Christ. Do you see this? Does it say, “give thanks when you are happy”? No. It says give thanks ALWAYS! [the speaker hits his head] – this is a hard thing. Why should we do this? One reason: He is the master, He is still in control, and His will for me is good – good – good. Even so, Romans 8:28 is still in me –that everything works for Good for those who are called according to His purpose. So I know that even, even, even my bad decisions that I make today or that I made yesterday – I will say “thank you Lord, you are a wise God, you can turn that to good.” God is still doing miracles today! Can I get an “AMEN?” [us: AMEN]. Do you want to be filled with the Spirit? Then thank. Thank. Thank. Thank the Lord. And as much as you thank the Lord – you will also find yourself thanking other people. You will have an attitude of gratitude – because you are grateful to God! I am so grateful because I have this and that – and I am so grateful because I don’t have this and that! And this is the kind of relationship that we have between friends. When we hear about the wrath of God, look at Romans 1:18. What are the people like who the wrath of God comes against? It says they did not thank Him or glorify Him when they knew that He is God! They hid the truth!

Romans 1:18
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.

John 4 – God is looking for those who will worship in Spirit and in truth.

We were walking there, my wife and I, just as we saw the police car. We could walk there freely because of the police car. But when I’m in Egypt and I see that police car, I am fearful because I know that somebody will abuse that authority. Now I’m not talking about abuse. I’m not talking about people misusing authority. But God will put authority into place to protect us. God will give us authority to help us grow and to give us borders. We need guidance and control in our life. We need somebody to give us a border, telling us, “you cannot go far.”

There is no sin that God hates more than pride and rebellion. This is the only sin that we commit that God comes against us Himself. But the Lord wants to encourage us to submit. To submit to the authority of God and all the authorities that God puts in our life. We live in a system that the Lord gave us for our benefit.

Hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to them.
Be filled with the Spirit. This means having a right relationship with the Body of Christ, through fellowship and submission, and a right relationship with God through worship and thanksgiving. Now I think you know what it means to be filled with the Spirit. It’s not a mystical THING that’s going to happen to you. It’s your decision. Be filled with the Spirit – means that it’s something for you to do. Okay? Be practical. Be a worshipper. Be filled with the Spirit.

Let me pray for you.

Fruitfulness in the Spirit

Matthew 7:15-20
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.

John 15:5
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

We are talking about the fruit of the Spirit. This means one tree; and it’s fruit for everybody. And the fruit is not the gift. We can have some gifts, but we have to have all the fruits. I’ll say it again. We can have some gifts, as the Spirit wills, but for the fruit – we have to have it all. Because this is the fruit of one tree.

What does it mean, fruit?
It means one tree
It’s the fruit of the Spirit – not the fruit of your attitude or good behavior. It does not belong to you. It belongs to the Spirit, give Him glory.

Galatians 5:19-20
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

My Question: In Galatians 19 and 20, it says “works of the flesh” and then it says “fruit of the Spirit.” So then is it saying that works and fruit are synonymous?

2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

So we will be transferred from glory to glory – and our works of the flesh will be transformed to the works of the Spirit!

The only One who can control the flesh is the Holy Spirit when we give Him a chance to do it. Fruit means it is not immediate. It needs growth. It takes time and care. We have to nourish it and wait for the right time. The time of harvest. Fruit means time. Year after year for the Lord, we have to bear fruit.

I have a friend, and his wife died. He’s a good friend of mine. She died and went to heaven. And when she was being brought, she was told she will meet God, but it won’t be a pleasant meeting. And she went before the throne of God and she knelt and didn’t look upon Him. She saw His feet. And she had a big ministry. God said, “You have done a lot.” And she saw all her sins before her. It was very shameful. And He said to her, “You have done a lot of things for Me, and I love you so much. I saved you. And there are a lot of people down there that are praying for you to come back. I will send you back – but I want you to do one thing. Bear fruit. There are people in your ministry who are praying. Tell them to bear fruit.” And then, after 9 hours of being dead, she was sent back.

Our relationship with God
Love, Joy, Peace – reflect our relationship with the Father.
Our relationship with others
Long Suffering, Kindness, Goodness – reflects our relationship with other people
Our relationship with ourselves
Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self Control - Reflects our growing relationship with ourselves

First, our relationship with God. Do you know what the greatest commandment is? Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind and soul. When you love the Lord, you are SURE you love the Lord. And what does it mean to love the Lord?

Sana: Obedience.

John 14:21

Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him."

If you love me, you love the people that I love. It’s very easy and very simple. When I have the fruit of the Holy Spirit, I have the fruit of the love of God. To love God in the first place and to obey His commandments, and the second thing – I will love my neighbor as myself. And number 3 has to come before number 2 in my understanding – you have to love yourself before you can love your neighbor. And this is a positive love! You have to accept that you’re God’s creation, that you’re weak in some points, that you make mistakes… how many of you find that it’s easy to forgive yourself? For a long time it was hard for me.

1 Corinthians 16 LOVE

This is the first sign of the fruit. It’s an affliction. It’s a sign of the coming fruit in our life.

Secondly, Joy! What does it mean to be joyful? “Alright! I just got $2000 today! All my fees are paid!” These things give us joy! Right??? But it is not real joy. Because real Joy comes from your relationship with the Father! It’s the fruit of our salvation! You may lose a lot of things – but you still keep your joy. Why? Because the one who created Heaven and Earth is my Father. He can cover my credit cards. He is the richest person in the Universe. Be Joyful in the Lord, because the Joy of the Lord is your strength! Why are you losing strength? Because you are losing the Joy of the Lord. Is the Joy of the Lord bubbling in your heart? Hallelujah!

No one of Jesus’ disciples in the New Testament suffered more than the apostle Paul. He suffered so many afflictions.

Whatever the circumstances and surroundings are, then will be changed. Love and Joy are twins. They go together when you abide by the fruit of the Spirit.

Three: Peace! What’s peace? You can think. You can reflect. You can respond with a sound mind. Where there is peace, there is no fear. There is prosperity and a good relationship. There are good decisions in life. Think about your life for a moment. What have the worst times been? When you have made bad decisions. And if you think back, you have made these bad decisions when you did not have the peace in your life. He is the Prince of Peace. And there is no peace unless Jesus gives the peace!

What is the peace of the Lord? It’s just the personality of Christ inside of our inner being. It’s from the inside out. As much as I give space to the Holy Spirit in my life, and the Word of God in my life, the peace of God will weed me out.

This is our relationship with the Lord: Love, Joy, and Peace.

So now let’s go to the other side: Our relationship with others! The first one is, long suffering. Can you cut this into two? Long. Suffering. Long Suffering. This is one of the fruits of the Spirit! When you read Psalm 145, you read about how the Lord was long in suffering. He is so patient! He gave us not only one chance, but MANY chances! One of the biggest problems in the Body of Christ is the problem with relationships. Because we are very different. We have many differences. The long suffering is that I am dealing with others in a kid of mercy. And when I look at others I see and choose a reflection of my life. And the Lord is waiting for me. He’s looking at me and waiting for me to be transformed – it’s the same with others!

Romans 15:7
Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

Carry the suffering without revenge. The Lord is patient. He will not act immediately. He will wait. And He will show you.

Who has the right of revenge? Romans 12:17 – it’s God. The first reaction in our life when somebody is teasing us – what to do? To defend ourselves or to attack? No! I will listen. And I will go back to the Lord and say, “there is something wrong on my heart, or there is something wrong on the heart of my brother. What should I do?” And intercede for Him. And you will fall down. And you will fall down. And you will fall down many times. I need somebody to pray for me. I need somebody to intercede for me. I need somebody with long suffering to carry my weight.

Kindness. To be kind. Kindness. Kindness is something positive. It’s the situation of giving – continuous giving to others. Kindness goes with three things. 1) You have compassion. You put yourself in the place of others. We cannot do anything in the things that I am sharing without the Holy Spirit. 2) Put yourself in the place of others. 3) Understand the situations that others go through.

Ephesians 4:12
to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

Another part of kindness is that you have a desire for the good of everybody. You care. You show that you care to give your life and time to others.

Your flesh will say, “I’m tired. Let’s take a rest.” But if the Spirit controls you – He will take you to do the work of God.

Goodness: from our relationship with others. Give thanks to the Lord because He is good and His mercy endures forever. What does it mean that God is good? I’ll tell you two things. 1) He is a God of covenant. He will not change what He promised. Then He is good. Whether I am up or down, He is good. He is the same. He has made a covenant with me and He will not go back on it. Thank you, God! Thank you, God! You deal with me from your goodness! “Today I love you, but tomorrow you do a lot of sins! I’m going to tear you down and just demolish you.” And God has a right to do this! He has a right! BUT! His goodness keeps Him from it! “I love you, and I have a covenant with you. You are so ugly today, and you were so beautiful yesterday, but in my eyes I see my Son Jesus.”

So HOW do I keep the goodness? I FIGHT with my wife. I FIGHT with my kids! And maybe I will kill my wife one day, but I will not divorce her at all. Why? Because of the goodness of God [Now there is a girl uprising, so the speaker makes a note] I think she can do the same to me.

So today I am bad. And Miled is mad. So I am sad! I want him to understand my circumstances! I want to have him remember that I was good yesterday! We are friends! Now before Miled can understand this, I must love myself and take care of what’s going on inside me first.

Matthew 5:43-48
"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

The last thing when we go to deal with ourselves. There are 3 things. The first is faithfulness. Fidelity. It’s a lifestyle. And this faithfulness comes when you trust yourself and HOW you trust yourself. You trust you God! And when you trust your God, you start to act in that kind of trustworthy relationship. And there’s no need to lie. And there’s no need to pretend.

Well done faithful servant.

God is looking for your faithfulness. Not your success, but your faithfulness. BE FAITHFUL! Now this thing, the Lord encourages us. If you are faithful in the little things – God will give you faith in the bigger things. Faithfulness reflects the character of our faithful God, that He lives in us. And He is so faithful to the promises of His word.

The meek person has two things. 1) He is willing to learn.

Genesis 1:21
He is talking about the meekness. The willingness to work with God. The flexibility it takes to let the Lord shape you and mold you with others.

Why does the Lord put some people you don’t like in your life? “No, no, no! This is not God, this is the devil!” So we go to the Lord, “Lord, I can’t love this one. Please. How can I? I want to continue with you. Please teach me how to love this one.” We need to be teachable.
2) Meekness means to give up your personal rights. This is a very hard one. It needs the power and help of the Holy Spirit. And the Lord Jesus said, learn from me because I am meek and I have a humble heart. Okay? Learn. This is the meekness of Jesus. And the meekness is the opposite of one other thing. What is it?

Me: Pride?
Sana: Selfishness?

And when we put these things together, pride and selfishness – what do we get? Anger! When you love somebody and you get hurt, you will not act in anger, but you will grieve.

The work of the Spirit brings repentance. You can go to the Lord. You can ask for forgiveness. You are willing to change – in your heart. You are willing to act on that change.

One more thing. Self control. Before you learn how to control others, or to lead others, I need to learn how to control myself. Many times in counseling I met husbands and parents who say, “tell her to submit to me! It is the word of God!” And I tell them, “listen, learn how to control your anger. Learn how to control your mood. Learn how to control yourself.” This self control is a Godly reaction toward the choices and the temptations of life. And it’s easy to think, “What would Jesus do if he were in my place?” And in Proverbs 22 it talks about a city without walls. It’s the same with a man – he has no control over the spirit. Anyone can enter and exit without any protection. It’s the same with this self control. The enemy will come into my life.

You don’t need to go and find a prostitute. You can just turn on your laptop. It’s not hard. It’s not far away. We need self control.

Self control is the commitment to Jesus Christ that controls our behavior inside and outside. God has not given us the Spirit of fear but the Spirit of power and love. This is the Spirit of God over our tongues, our emotions, and our desires.

You can not see the fruit of the Spirit as shining in our life unless you depend 100% on the Holy Spirit. Let me ask you. How many of you in your life – you’ve tried and tried a lot to stop something and quit something without success. Thank you for your honesty. I tried so hard in my life. I was a smoker. I was an addicted smoker – for a long time – from a very young age. I started at the age of 7. And it continued with me until I started drugs. In my early age, there was no heroin and strong stuff – just hashish and things like that. I tried a lot of it, and I had a concept at the time that, “when I want to quit, I will quit.” And this was before Christ. And when I came to Christ I still had the same concept. One day my father was walking with me on the beach. He said to me, “my son, I want to tell you something. I will raise your allowance – and I want you to know about this choice. I’m not raising it so you can buy cigarettes. This thing will destroy you. And I was angry after that talk. And what do I do when I’m angry? I smoke. So again I was looking for a cigarette.

Later in my life I was reading in 1 Corinthians, and I realized my flesh belongs to the Holy Spirit. And I got on my knees, and I said to God, “I can try and try, and I will not be able to stop smoking. But if Jesus, and His Holy Spirit live in me… and it is His flesh, He can do it. I give these things to You, Lord. I give myself to You, Holy Spirit. Since then I have not smoked. I feel like vomiting when I think about putting a cigarette in my mouth. So hand over these things to the Holy Spirit. Stop pornography – adultery – addiction. Stop these things. Give them to the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Q: How can we understand the situations that others go through? What does it mean to have faith in God verses to BE faithful (example to our wives)?

that's interesting... I was thinking a lot about similar things. And I came to the following: when I put Jesus first, He is in total authority - over everything that happens in my life. And the result of this relationship is love - meaning that this is the state of my spirit. All wrong is just naturally rejected, if Jesus is really on top and I am not, evil doesn't even reach me (Who can harm you if you are eager for good?) So subjecting to the other can never be subjecting to other person's wrong, which could potentially happen and affect you since noone is perfect, but an act of service. That's love. Just felt like sharing that:)
