Pictures 1: Divided Cyprus

Cyprus is a nation torn in half. The history of it is complicated. Most of the people are Greek, and there are a large number of Turkish people, too. There was a lot of fighting between the Greeks and the Turks over this island, and a lot of people went missing, until 1974 when the United Nations stepped in and made a boundry/wall. People weren't even allowed to cross until recently - but now people can cross to either side if they have a passport. I haven't found the time to cross yet - but I will soon, for sure!!! I have plenty of time! The history is very interesting.; I recommend looking it up and reading more about it.

You guessed it! We're eating, here. This is what our dinners and lunches look like. :)

The Canadian boy and I. We're eating Greek food in Cyprus for the first time - it was SO good! :)

This is the church I went to when I first got here. A lot of people like it. It's official name is "The International Church" - a lot of the people that go here are refugees and people from all over the world. The service I went to was great - the roots of this church are anglican, although this church is not officially of the anglican denomination.

This is our room... actually this was the first few days we were there. Now it's a little messier. :) But it's not TOO messy... just messy enough to call it home.

That staircase leads up to where we live. The lower level is a church called "The Church of God of Prophesy" - it's non-denominational. Don't be misled by the strange name. It's a good church (Greek speaking). This is the back of the church, where there's a parking lot.

We are praying for one of the other YWAM ministries nearby, here in Cyprus. It's called "Media Village" where they produce Christian videos and things. There are only 2 students right now and one staff member. They come over and have dinner with us every night. The staff member is from Egypt, and the two students are girls, one from Switzerland and the other from Lebanon.
