A Comment about Outreach
The outreach is a lot of fun. We go out every Monday or Tuesday evening in Nicosia, in the manner that is described in the post called "Classroom: Intro to Outreach 01-31-07"
Every Wednesday night we have an "Open Night" where the students participate in some way (read a devotion, share a testimony... something like that) and we sing songs and hear a short message. When we meet people in the city through outreach, we invite them to this Open Night event. We've already met a few people and they're really cool and nice. One guy is a jounralist from Lebanon. Another guy is a student from Iraq - really very nice people with interesting stories. It has really taught us all a lot about not making assumptions about people no matter what their background is.
Also, a lot of people here do hate president Bush. This comes up on occasion when I mention I'm from America. People are quite angry with him.
If you haven't read the outreach post - go read it! :)
